So with all the hubbub going around this year about R32s becoming legal, I'm having a hard time finding info on importing an original GT-R. Is it possible at this point? Is it even a thing?

They are past the limitation; you should be able to import one without any major fiasco at this point.

There is a company in colorado that imports them and restores them. It might be easier and cheaper to get a KPGC10 than an R32. I just wish I could remember the name of the shop.

I've heard you have to get approval from the Yakuza to get one out of Japan.

Yes. You can get one now, there are several already here...Most anything over 25 years is legal to bring over.

There are actually a lot of different ways to do it. You can source one from a dealer in Japan, or an auction. Or go through an importer in the US. They do even occasionally come up for sale privately.

I would say JDM Legends has brought over more than anybody else at this point.

I'm actually going to be writing about the subject of importation from Japan very soon. In a couple days Ferrero1911 and I are going to have some big news...

I'm guessing you're thinking about JDM Legends in Utah...and they'll cost more than an R32.

Not a problem if you have the money. Mint, legit GT-R are going to set you back WAY more than $100k. I know an absolute PERFECT, very low mile GT-R is up for sale for over $500k. You could always pickup a regular Skyline (good one for $20-50k) and try to make a look alike.
